Breathe deeply and discover the benefits of Dry Salt Therapy known as Halotherapy. Practiced for centuries in Europe, dry salt therapy is a natural alternative treatment that cleanses both the airways & the skin to relieve congestion, inflammation & skin irritation.
During each 45 minute session, the atmosphere of the room is infused with micro-particles of salt which assists in purifying the lungs by opening & cleansing the airways of smoke, dust, pollutants, & other allergens. The micro-particles of salt are easily absorbed through the skin to help calm inflammation & promote hydration while the negatively charged ions of the salt create a deeply relaxing environment ideal for meditation & rejuvenation. You’ll leave each revitalizing session with clearer breathing & a more spacious mind.
FAQ
What is Halotherapy?
Halotherapy, also known as Dry Salt Therapy is a holistic approach that mimics the micro-climate of a salt cave. Dry salt air is dispersed into an enclosed environment through a unique process generated by a halogenerator. This type of treatment is a safe and effective way of using salt’s natural antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and super absorbent properties to provide relief for respiratory and skin conditions. When you heat salt, it becomes super dry, and kinetically more active. This heated and dry pure sodium chloride is then crushed into micro-sized particles and dispersed into the air in an enclosed environment. When micro-particles of dry salt are inhaled into the respiratory system, it does its job by absorbing and removing allergens, toxins and foreign substances in your lungs and throughout your respiratory tract. Salt also reduces any inflammation and opens airway passages making it easier to breathe.
What should I expect?
Once you arrive for your appointment, please text so we know you are here. After an opportunity to wash your hands and use the restroom, you will then be guided into the Refuge Salt Spa where you will find a comfortable massage table outfitted with an amazing Amethyst BioMat to enhance your session. You also have the option to utilize an eye mask. Make yourself comfortable and lie back as the halogenerator (dry salt machine) will shortly begin filling the air with micro-particles of salt while light music is played during each session. You may notice a slight taste of salt on your tongue, increased drainage or even a slight cough. Not to worry, this is your body clearing out the airways. Once you hear the salt machine finish, your session will have completed. You can then exit the room and make your way back to the first floor of the building feeling refreshed, relaxed, and breathing easily.
